Turbo sound

Anyone know how to get a little more turbo sound from this engine? It’s a little too quiet for me. 😂 Thought I was going to open up the exhaust a little until I looked underneath and saw it was just a straight pipe all the way from engine!🤷🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately unless you can "remove" some of that emissions on the exhaust, it's going to be a quiet one! No one is even tuning this yet so those options will be awhile out.

Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of. I don’t want to do anything that might void warranty or hurt fuel mileage anyway. Maybe a cold air intake. 🥴😎

I really had high hopes when banks said they were working on something a few months ago (emissions friendly ofcourse)...but I'm not aware of any companies right now. Hopefully we have options soon!

I recently installed a S&B Cold Air intake on my 3.0L. Following the detail instructions, it only took me under 2 hours to install in my garage. It is a very professionally made kit and looks pretty sharp under the hood. The S&B intake did give the truck a throatier intake sound and that nice turbo whistle at the lower range. Overall I have noticed better performance in the MPG and reduction in the turbo lag. This past weekend, I did a long road trip (700 miles) and I was able to maintain a 29-30mpg highway while maintaining a 77 mph highway speed. The only thing I have not like about the S&B system and have not heard anyone else talk about this issue, but at idle, the truck has a whomp like sound that comes from the intake. My thinking is that could be the waste gate on the turbo dumping from the extra air intake. To me, this is so minor to the overall improvement and feel.

My God, what year is your truck? 50k miles on your truck already! I like that sound it makes when a person shuts the engine off from the outside or window is down.

I bought it new in March 2020 and COVID did not stop me from going places. Five trips to VA to MN and back adds up. I bought it just because of the motor and knew that I was going to keep it long term. I hoping to get 250k+ out of her. And by the I drive that might be in a few years!!! J/k!! Best truck that I ever had.
