Fully refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 models equipped with the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine and rear-wheel drive now have a max tow rating of 13,200 pounds, an increase of 4,000 pounds compared to 2021-model-year vehicles with the LM2 diesel engine and rear-wheel drive. The increase in towing capacity is the result of chassis changes that enable the inclusion of the max tow package, which increases the max tow rating of 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 models with the LM2 engine and rear-wheel drive to 13,200 pounds.

Additionally, 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 models with the LM2 diesel engine and four-wheel drive now have a max tow rating of 13,000 pounds, an increase of 4,000 pounds compared to the 9,000-pound max tow rating of 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 models with the LM2 diesel engine and four-wheel drive.

This was a major talking point against the 3.0L Duramax for a lot of people so I'm glad GM finally raised that tow rating.

Yeah, they had a pretty low number there.

Took the baby Denali to town of 520 population, but has a grain elevator with a scale, which I roll over 100 times a year during harvest.

I was interested in what the snow pusher mounted on the Cat skid steer weighed. No problems taking off on flat gravel in 2x4. Just have to feather the pedal. Torque comes in so quick.

1st is combined and second is trailer and load off the ball hitch.

JFI on what a snow pusher is CompuDragon... 😁 It's all 1/2" plate steel. With a 3/4" plate steel back drag. Bolts are 5/8ths.

It always was a capable motor. It was limited by the chassis. Maybe they first thought it would take sales away from the 2500 6.6L?

I had heard about this in Sept and was seriously thinking of waiting for a 2022, however, supply issues are still hanging around and there have been reports of price gouging by dealers so I went for the 2021. It's still in the required tow rating for my RV trailer however I would have liked the peace of mind of the extra cooling.
