2025 last year, buy or not?

Currently have a 2020 Ram 2500 6.4 gas. Great truck but don’t need 3/4ton and would like to go back to a diesel and possibility of 25-30mpg. Couple questions- I read of all the issues of past 3.0s leaking oil and issues, have these all been cleaned up and or numbers exaggerated? With 2025 being last year for 3.0 is this an area to be in concern? I greatly appreciate your honesty, retirement is soon and plan on being last new truck purchase.

2025 is not the last year for the 3.0. Read an article about the upcoming 2027 modal which will have the 3.0 as one of their engine options. I have a 2024 Elevation and it runs great with no issues. 11,600 miles.

Hard to follow, I read an article that GM was ending 3.0 because of high cost/restrictions on diesels and 2025 was last model. Difficult to believe they would discontinue for 1-2yrs and come back out, but anything is possible I guess.
