2021 RST 4x4 3.0, tail gate open with dead battery

Probably keeping the jump pack in the truck rather than the bad would be your best option.

    Exhaust/Engine Brake, or lack of

What I've noticed that it will kick in when you have cruise control set to a speed. When it gets over so much over that set speed, it will kick in. I've also manually down shifted to get it to work. Probably if it's in tow/haul mode and you downshift, it kicks in. This is my first diesel so...

    Finally ordered my new truck.

The no crank was just a programming issue. I would imagine the crank main oil leaks have also been resolved. Haven't heard of any more on the LM2.

What are you towing with yours?

Just a thread to post quick pics and specs of what you tow. (Mods, maybe could be pinned?) Been finally towing our 2016 Coachmen 248RBS, 25ft, 6500# (confirmed at scale), 900# tongue weight. Kept it mostly at the speed limit between 80-100 km/h. It towed without any complaints, tranny temps...

    Electric trucks

Trailer towing with an EV will be unrealistic. Will there be uses for them, yes, but this ain't it. On another note, the Ferd is so much inferior that it can't do super cruise like the Denali can. Wish they would have used the LM2. I had flashbacks to when I was towing with my '08 Avalanche...

    Transmission fluid change

Just spotted this on Amazon.ca. What a ripoff! Comes to $27/qt. Mind you, this is the LV version for the 8 speed, not the ULV for ours but still gives an idea of the scam being run here, even by Amazon and Mobil...

    "Shift to Park" Message

The transmission became unresponsive when I was trying to go up a snowy hill and I was shifting "vigourously" between D and R. I believe the transfer case was fine. The tranny was the one having fits. https://gm1500diesel.com/forum/threads/transmission-stopped-working.292/ Agreed. Can't...

    LM2 Intake Mod Tests

Nowadays, OEMs are trying to make their engines as efficient as possible. I haven't seen any modern vehicle's intake getting better efficiency by replacing the intake. Man, I remember as a teenager on my old iron when I would flip the air filter lid. Back then, efficiency was not the word of...

Things you learned about on your truck...

I've had that occasionally but I attribute that to touching the scroll wheel while backing and turning the wheel and then shutting it off, not noticing it. I try to keep an eye on it and have noticed before shutting that I did in fact touch the wheel.

Bad luck for sure. Mine's been mint, no codes or any issues except for once the tranny would not work but a restart fixed that.

    That's all she wrote, boys!

I'm glad I didn't wait until the 2022 MY to get mine. Also weird the 6.2L is out. I have a feeling that fuel prices are playing into this with people not wanting to order them even though they still need a truck. I've been towing out 6500# RV trailer and I have to say that it's very...

    3.0 DEF usage?

Maybe the shape of the tank. I remember some cars had a smaller lower half gas tank or some trucks had smaller upper part. It would go faster going through the smaller portion.

    Transmission fluid change

As long as you have proof that you used the proper fluid and filter, there should be no issues regarding warranty. Same as doing your own oil changes.

    ScanGauge II

My Pixel camera is too good 🤣 . When the truck goes in to get the quarter fixed, the shop will give it a free full detail. The $300 iDash turns into $381CAD + shipping + taxes/duties for me. I just can't justify that kind of money and I already had the ScanGauge. It does what I need it to...

    ScanGauge II

I have a ScanGauge II that I had been using in my previous tow vehicle and wondered if I could get it to work in this new truck. After checking their website, they have PIDs for other recent GM diesels but mine needed to be updated to the latest firmware. Cost me $25USD + shipping from...

    Auto Stop Eliminator

No I haven't. Good point. Battery seems to be fine but I can run a tester on it. I have noticed that voltage doesn't seem to ever drop below 14V lately.
