    Mileage with/without stop/start

Well, since the cold weather has set in, even if I leave it on, the engine never stops. Well that half the year it won't even work so I don't know why they even bother to put it on Canadian trucks.

    Fuel cap mod

What about just using a short self tapping or wood screw to hold the washer? Drill a small hole and screw it in. If retention is an issue, a drop of super glue should do it. The no need to take off the plastic from the door.

    Led bulbs

Same here on my 2021 Elevation. Regular bulbs for brake and turns, front and rear.

    Fuel cap mod

I've got the cap however I've just been putting it on the tonneau cover while filling. Great ideas for a magnetic holder.

Finally got Torque Pro to work on the infotainment. It's only money. Can't take it with you.

Interesting. Using Apple Car Play to run Android. Thanks for the info. Definitely saved that to my wish list.

Details! We need details! What black box and how you did it. I thought the infotainment unit was locked out from installing anything except what's in GM's list of apps.

    2021 3.0 Duramax 1500 Towing

You have to have the max tow package to tow that much and that also according to your particular truck's configuration. The tow rating goes down when you add 4x4 and a regular or long bed instead of the short bed. And to get to that rating, they probably added bigger brakes to meet SAE tow...

    Electric Silverado Truck

Unless they fill the bed with batteries, towing any significant weight for a distance will be garbage. It won't be feasible to travel with an RV with this. And what about charging at destination? Do you really think that RV parks will allow you to suck up that much power for free? As soon as...

    Electric Silverado Truck

It's an E-Avalanche. It will piss off those that want a real PU to work with. They probably had to do this kind of body for the battery instead of the cab/bed split. It will be popular with the Avalanche fans for the weekend warriors and occasional family couch movers but for those needing...

    Rear main seal

I was talking with my son, who is a heavy equipment tech, about this and he thinks it could be a problem with the PCV system if it builds up too much pressure it will blow out the seal. Although it's entirely possible that it's either a poor design or a batch of bad seals, it could be pressure...

Could also be the infamous rear main seal. No evidence of leaking oil?

    Led bulbs

For the brakes, did you get red or white ones? I've seen some that were so bright that they made the brake lights pink. Probably red would would be safe.

    Led bulbs

Any problems like hyperflash when you did the turns? I'm looking at chaging mine too. BTW, you see this warning in the owners manual against LEDs? Not saying it has any merit. Probably just GM trying to keep us from going into Denali territory.

    Scangauge II

Does the SGII have a pid for the regen? I have one but haven't tried it in the truck yet.

[UPDATE] GM putting hold on 3.0L Duramax for 22 year models through 2021

You might have to if it's not a Denali. https://www.motor1.com/news/547580/gm-drops-heated-seats-wheel-option/

[UPDATE] GM putting hold on 3.0L Duramax for 22 year models through 2021

Apparently the extra tech is the problem since they are supposed to have restarted building the 3.0. Heated seats and steering are being deleted from trims below the Denali. That might be hanging it up but I'm surprised yours is still waiting. Mine was ordered around the same time and it came...

    Trans temps

Latest I've seen is between 85-90c (185-195f) unloaded city winter driving. I have a feeling it's thermally regulated, like the later 6L80E to not run lower than that. BTW, anybody looking to know this tranny's designation is 10L90E...

    PF66 oil filter shortage

Do OEMs publish lists of "approved" filters like they do for oil? The bulletin was an exception and even say "Additional bulletins will be distributed advising of sufficient PF66 availability and ending the competitive aftermarket filter warranty." However, in the bulletin, they say "While...

Not feeling good about the PF66 filter

I mentioned in that video's comments if he could do the UPF66R. Hope he does. He's pretty good. Saw a video of a Pf48 Professional and Gold and oddly enough, the gold has the same build as our PF66. If I can't get at least get the UPF66R, I'd probably go with the Wix. They're usually...

    PF66 oil filter shortage

I thought it was something saying you didn't have to use the dealer for regular maintenance, which is why you see the notation "warranty approved" at quick lube places. However, since we can only get the oil and probably the filter at the dealer, it kinda makes it a moot point at least until...
