So my truck had the check engine light come on after 43k miles and 2 1/2 years of ownership. Took is to the local dealer, they said it had a failed “ diesel particulate pressure sensor & harness”. They gave me their estimate to repair of $881 plus diagnostic. Since this sensor even though is connected to the operation of the emission system is not covered.
The service writer told me when I picked up the truck without them completing the repair, dealer I purchased it from is going to repair at NC. He has had the same fault on an high number of trucks recently and expects this will be something GM is going to have to address under a recall or extended warranty. So how many of us are out there?

I recently had the check engine light come on and after a road trip of 100 miles at an average speed of 50 miles per hour the check engine light went out the next morning. I have around 25,000 miles on the odometer after 3-1/2 years of ownership and will take it in to the dealership to determine why the check engine light came on. I thought all things related to emissions would have been covered? I hope GM addresses the issue of the diesel particulate pressure sensor & harness if this is a known problem.

Picked up my truck today. They showed me where the wires are failing in the harness. They are finding that the trucks that had the random "service emissions system" warning pop up and disappear when newer, are the one they are finding the faulty harnesses on now. They have had 8 trucks (small dealer in a small town) in the last couple months come in with the same fault.

Sounds like your local dealer has a good tech/support system in place.
