I have been dealing with a knock in my engine since 4607 miles on it, tried doing a lemon law but the dealership lied and said the motor was repaired and it clearly wasn't. The knock has been there since almost day one, I finally pulled my oil pan. Found a piece of one oil squirter and chunks of my piston skirt in the oil pan that had hit the oil squirter and broke off because GM installed the damn oil squirter incorrectly. My question is can reassemble the motor with new bearings and seals and leave the piston in or do I have to replace it. I dont think I can get a piston in from the bottom, removing from the bottom not an issue. I put a new squirter in and it fits perfect. Thanks for reading!

Boy that's a tough one. How much glitter is in the engine? How many miles on the girl?

As mentioned in another forum, you've lost whatever remaining warranty you had by working on it yourself. I would have found another dealer to handle it. Good luck.

I would love for them pick up the bill and fix it, but who's to say they won't blame you for anything they find. Sadly that's how it works. What's your plan now? Good luck!
