I had it trucked n a flet bed recovery truck . Lookin back in hindsight I should've just drove it as per first service advisorAlso, did you drive it in to the service dept? If'n so, you gotta give the 3.0 credit not locking up after it started making internal knocking especially a main bearing.
The main bearing feeds oil to the rod bearing. When the rod locks up, thats when it will probably produce a vented window in the side of the block!
Trucked to dealer. Really knockingAlso, did you drive it in to the service dept? If'n so, you gotta give the 3.0 credit not locking up after it started making internal knocking especially a main bearing.

Rear main thrust bearing . 8 weeks later a new motor was installed! I traded it on another and getting it tomorrow. The report says it is "a one of bad part" although my New dealer said that they have installed new motors on some prior to sale. Maybe more to it than I had been told. I was on high alert every time I get in the truck. I still don't see any of the same problem on ther forums. Every time I see a 3.0 I try to ask the driver how they have made out with there truck. All seem pretty satisfied.
