On Friday the 13th, long story short, I back the truck into a concrete pillar in a hotel parking garage. It was dark, it was in my blind spot and it was painted the same dark colour as everything else, essentially camouflaging it.

Man I felt like an idiot. From what I maybe read here, there aren't any patch panels available for these yet so the whole bed might get replaced? My bumper is likely FUBAR and my taillight is also scratched and cracked. Already called the insurance and just waiting for the adjuster to call back. It'll be interesting to find out what it will cost to fix this. Would be crazy to total it if they can't get the parts. We shall see.
 
Yea, that sucks. I’d be cursing and swearing if I did that, lol. Well, I guess that cherry has been popped so to speak. Pretty certain that insurance is not going to total it based on that damage. I’m guessing $6-8K when it’s all said and done.

Oh don't worry, I did! So much so that my wife thought I was gonna beat up that parking attendant.

At worse, I think they can go with a used box Saw a few available on car-part.com, it would just have to be repainted. Range was around $3000 USD.
 
Sucks man! My wife caught the front end of her new Tahoe (1000 miles) on a Honda Civic worth 500 for the tune of $5600. The only paint was the bumper. Fixing these things are expensive! 84325A67-96B7-4EC4-B2F4-E7EF6F9B347C.jpeg

I looked it up online and the complete bed ass’y brand new is only $3800 CDN from a place out in Ottawa, pick it up and save the shipping cost...😁
 
The body shop's estimator said there supposedly are complete quarter panels available. He was suppose to send me a copy of the estimate by this afternoon but hasn't happened yet. He did say that, like everything else, there are supply issues and that's what's gonna take a while because the work itself should just take 1.5 weeks. Planning on taking the RV trailer out this summer so I hope it doesn't cut into that.
 
Well, I got the estimate. Total $7792 CAD including fixing the pimple I did on the mini tailgate near the switches. Problem is waiting for the parts. Apparently GM aren't too bad for parts but no promises. Should hear back tomorrow on how long it may take.

I got floored when I saw the cost of the taillight alone. $1092 and it's not even an LED version. :eek:

Yep. It’s ridiculous. My wife’s headlight was 1200. I figured it would be more after seeing your cost for a taillight.
