All GM engines since the 4.2 have been built on the platform of 150,000 miles min, that has not been the case though. I agree the 4.2 good engine as long as you kept the oil changed, as with most, the 4.2 downfall was the MPG, and the reason it was dropped from the lineup

I think Amsoil meets all GM specs for Dexos D, But they won't pay GM licensing fee. But it does meet all the required specs.

Nice, have you monitored fuel milage since any changes? Other than the 1 second longer crank time on startup, I have not noticed any other changes as of yet? But now with winter months ahead, I do expect a bit lower mileage because of winterized fuel and me warming up the truck for a bit.

How many days since you had Re-Flash and or miles? I guess it has not happened since reflash software
