Newby Looking to program a new key fob

Welcome. The process is in the owners manual. It's really easy with two fobs for the truck, as I have added a third remote for my trucks. I have not added a remote with only 1 original, but I do remember thumbing thru the process.

It looks like the 1500's are included in the recall...

I agree. I have read about some cases on the 1500's. But it might have been the issue of the tailgate switch on the dash allowing the gate to drop in gear.

I posted below about the hd's in auto news. I thought I'd bring it up here, learning that the half tons are included. I received 2 emails for my 2 HD's about a recall for the tailgate dropping on their own. I looked at the MyGMC app for more information and the recall is including the half...

GM to recall the hd's for tailgate dropping...

Just got an email for my hd's. GM is recalling, but no remedy is available. Well, us rednecking engineers have one. Might not be pavement queen type truck remedy, but us dirt farmer, construction types it is.

Things you learned about on your truck...

We had a cold spell for a few days here a couple weeks ago. Everything was frozen solid, including water bottles in the trucks. Found out the normal water bottles fit nice in the defroster vent slot. Don't bounce and rattle around or roll out. Takes about 20 minutes to unthaw.

    Reduced engine power warning

Are you running pump fuel or pumping out of your bulk tank? I'm running out of a bulk tank. 50/50, but also supplement every fill will OptiLube. I ask, because when we had those days of neg degree highs, my transfer pump was down to a dribble. Don't know it it was the 10 micron filter or if...

Welcome and ask away. If it's powertrain related, really need to have a code reader to pull codes to even start diagnostics.

Welcome. I did the same. Fall of 20, when dealers were hurting/worried for business, due to lockdowns.
