I bought a new 2025 Sierra SLT 1500 with 3.0, max trailering package and SLT Premium package. Love it so far but a few things are bothering me. 1) Chrome inside the truck at times is a major issue with the reflections. Bought some matte black vinyl tape and that has helped but need to do more and recover what I did last night. 2) twice so far I’ve had the audio stop working and the front left speaker start to squeal. I have a short video and see if I can attach it. It only does it until I shut the truck off and stops upon restarting it. This morning it did it when I put the truck in park and instead of the chime you normally hear, it squealed until I turned the truck off and back on. 3) CarPlay SUCKS! If my phone is connected to CarPlay and the head unit is too, you can not view Apple Maps on your phone. So today when I was listening to Sirius it would not all Apple Maps to show the map on my phone, only turn by turn directions. I didn’t want to be FORCED into using CarPlay to view the map. Apple has a new update for CarPlay rolling out shortly so hopefully that will get around this. And one other quirky issue with CarPlay. When I’m listening to music and a call comes in, everything is fine and I get the call. When I get out of my truck it switches to my headset as expected. When the call is over, the music starts to play again. If I hit the cancel button on my headset it stops for a few seconds and then starts up again. Only way to get it to stop is to take my phone and stop it in the app. This problem doesn’t happen when I’m using Bluetooth to stream music to the head unit. I am neck deep in the Apple Ecosystem so I’m not switching to Android, but until this issue is fixed, I won’t use CarPlay. Most of the time, not always, my Apple software works flawlessly but not with CarPlay.

Just looked for the video and it’s not showing on my iPad. I’ll see if it’s on the phone and try to attach it later

Yea, the CarPlay thing locks you to your truck screen for all maps sadly. Google maps is my primary and it does the same thing (at least while in route somewhere). The audio issues are new to me, not sure I've heard any of that.. But, the good news issue if you catch it on video and it happens more then once, push the dealer to fix it.

I have a 30 second video of it doing it but I guess you can’t post video here? Dealer has a truck ready for me to use on July 1st as I need one for work. I’ll make sure the tech gets the video so they can see I’m not crazy! Funny thing is it didn’t do it today, ran normally all day. This issue has only happened 3 out of the 6 days I’ve driven it in the morning. And as soon as you turn the truck off and the radio finally looses power, the issue goes away. I’ve decided to stop using car play unless Apple changes the issue with maps. Either let me use Apple Maps on the phone or the truck screen when I’m not listening to music via CarPlay or I’ll just use Bluetooth and use maps on my phone. Not sure what their logic is there. And why can’t I uninstall ALL OF GOOGLES SOFTWARE if I won’t use it!

Hmm, I'm not having any issues using Apple CarPlay with either cable or Bluetooth. I can listen to music and see my maps at the same time. I feel the same about Google but they are probably locked in contractually with GM so don't think that can happen unless you can hack into the system.

The issue is if I try to use Sirius XM or the Radio. Carplay is in control of things and will not let you view maps on your phone WITHOUT it running on the headunit. There are times I don't want to use Carplay so this presents a problem. Not sure why Apple wants to force you to use carplay just to view a map when obviously carplay is connected in the background but I'm using Sirius. So I have decided that until they change this, I won't use carplay I'll just use bluetooth and everything will work. That way I can still view the map on my phone.
