I have put together a reminder for the iPhone to turn off the Auto Stop/Start feature. Most of us find it annoying when you come to your first stop and the truck turns off! It is an alternative to having to buy and replacing the wiring harness in the back of the switch. Not a fix but it works if you are reminded 🙂
Note:
This is played through the factory infotainment system using Apple CarPlay when the phone is connected to the truck.





Audible Reminder to Turn Off Auto Stop​

(Plays automatically when CarPlay connects)

What this does​

When your iPhone connects to CarPlay, your phone will speak a reminder out loud through the car speakers telling you to turn off the auto stop feature.



Step 1: Open the Shortcuts app​

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone




Step 2: Go to Automation​

  1. Tap Automation at the bottom

  2. Tap Create Personal Automation
    • If you already have automations, tap the + in the top-right corner first




Step 3: Choose when it runs​

  1. Scroll down and tap CarPlay

  2. Tap Connects

  3. Tap Next




Step 4: Add the actions​

Action 1: Set the volume​

  1. Tap Add Action

  2. Tap the Search field

  3. Type Set Volume

  4. Tap Set Volume

  5. Set the volume to 50%




Action 2: Speak the reminder (first time)​

  1. Tap Add Action

  2. Search for Speak Text

  3. Tap Speak Text

  4. Tap the blue Text box
Enter:

Please remember to turn off the auto stop feature





Action 3: Wait 10 seconds​

  1. Tap Add Action

  2. Search for Wait

  3. Tap Wait

  4. Change the time to 10 seconds




Action 4: Speak the reminder again​

  1. Tap Add Action

  2. Search for Speak Text

  3. Tap Speak Text

  4. Tap the blue Text box
Enter the same text again:

Please remember to turn off the auto stop feature





Step 5: Set “Run Immediately”​

  1. Tap Next

  2. Turn ON Run Immediately

  3. Tap Done




Final result ✅​

  • Runs automatically when CarPlay connects

  • Speaks the reminder twice

  • No prompts or confirmations

  • Plays through the vehicle speakers
