I was watching a TFL Talk youtube video doing a walk around at the Detroit auto show and noticed that a GMC truck with a Multi-Pro Tailgate has a black plastic overlay on the upper half of the tailgate. Has anyone seen this before? I'm curious where I could buy this overlay on the tailgate to cover scratches that have occurred on my Multi-Pro Tailgate.

Have not seen that. Maybe try a dealer? You would think they would be on ebay or the parts house websites.
 
Just looks like an appliqué or wrap. How old is the video? Was it from the first year of the MP tailgate? Maybe they were just trying to make it stand out for the show.
 
They did the same thing to the Silverado. Probably just an option or just did it to show it off more.

You could do it yourself, there are generic wraps or appliques. Some are even imitation carbon fibre.
