New guy here

2021 GMC Sierra with 3.0L diesel 62,000 miles. Love the truck and engine performance BUT since about 45,000 miles I have noticed an intermittent pronounced tapping sound. The sound is not the typical diesel clatter its more like a valve tap sound or possibly fuel pump. The intermittent nature has me perplexed and paranoid. No smoke or oil consumption.

Dealer has no ideas yet.

Any ideas?

Welcome.

Sure is nice to have a 100k powertrain warranty on the diesels!

The 6.2 would have spun a bearing right after 60k, some are spinning WAY earlier! 🤣

Welcome.. yea, perhaps try and catch it on video and maybe someone has some advice. Diesels are a bit noisy. As also, if a person thinks something might be off make the dealer answer for it, and if that doesn't work you can always sell before the 100K is up!
