Looking for recommendations..

I’m jumping from the dark side (Ram1500 Hemi 5.7) of the world in what will hopefully be a brighter, more reliable future than my previous truck. (3 engines later on the hemi and no longer have faith in the Ram brand)

That being said, for those of you who have a 2025 3.0, I’m hoping to gain some knowledge to make my experience a great one.

I’ve read numerous reviews, notes, columns, reports about the 3.0 and so far I’m liking what I’m seeing which is going to lead me to purchase my new truck in a few weeks.

Are there any items in which I should watch for or possibly add to a small list to make the 3.0 more enjoyable? I drive a lot, anywhere between 38,000 to 45,000 miles a year (business related) with roughly 85 to 90% of it will be all freeway miles up and down the state of California, which also means I will be traversing through several different grades and mountain ranges along Highway five and other mountains such as the Sierras, all the while towing my 7 x 14 enclosed trailer that weighs about 5500-6000 pounds when loaded.

I’ve already thought about purchasing some Timbren rear absorbers so when I’m towing the trailer, it won’t affect the right quality.
Along with this, I’ve also seen several advertisements when searching diesel engines regarding diesel fuel, additives such as Archoil, Docs, etc. they all say that they’re the greatest, but the truth is always with the everyday drivers such as you guys.

Thank you for any and all input, I greatly appreciate it in advance.

Congrats on the new truck and welcome aboard!

I don't tow anything currently, but I have used use Timbren-like absorbers in a previous truck, and it certainly helped. If I tow in the future, I'm more inclined to get air bags though.

As far as diesel additives, I've tried both Opti-Lube XPD and Archoil. They both work well but I like the Archoil better because it's less expensive and I experience fewer regens with it over the XPD. With fewer regens, my mpg is higher. Just my 2 cents.
