Glad the 2020s don’t have it but it is only an update away. Safety nazis trying to protect us from ourselves. Like the “press the brake pedal” to disengage the parking brake. Didn’t need that with the manual parking brake, why now? And the @$#% auto stop that can’t be fully disabled (although...
My overall average is pretty low compared to my 2.8 Colorado. Tow the boat to the lake 3-4 times a month (80 mile round trip) but mostly 34 mile round trip to work 5 days a week. Some city/some highway. Discounting the towing miles, I'm usually in the 20-24 mpg but occasionally only 18-19...
Not sure but you may be able to siphon it out. Then put a fresh bottle in it. I don’t know if they have an anti-siphon valve on the DEF tank but I doubt it.
The remote start is disabled when there’s a CEL. GM’s way of helping us.
Get a scan tool to check the codes yourself. I’ve heard on star is hit or miss on being able to verify codes. I’ve let my on star expire but have an iDash mounted so I can read them myself. Hard to say what will pop up as...
Opti-lube XPD and Summer. Ran a couple different brands and ended up with this one. Can’t really give a reason other than the claims of better lubrication. Ran it in my Colorado 2.8 due to the possible injector failures. No issues in 46k miles.
There’s another forum where the number of trucks with this issue is going up. Which sucks since I have a 2020...it should be a recall for GM if it continues.
Yeah, a very light hop. Pretty strange, actually. More noticeable in the morning but I’m not driving as fast then. Usually right at 70. In the afternoon it’s higher as there is more traffic and everyone has a lead foot going home.
Trailer tires have been road force balanced with no issues. I can feel the hop in the truck without the trailer connected but to a much lesser extent. Same speed, though. Going to have the truck tires road force balanced this week to see what that does. Waiting for a chance to hook my boat to a...
I know this thread is a year old but I'll post this here instead of creating a new one.
Since I've started towing my boat now that the weather is getting better, I've been playing with the tow/haul mode and exhaust brake. So far, the exhaust brake has not impressed me. The owner's manual is...
My new 2020 Silverado LT is a pleasure to drive except for towing, the intended purpose of my purchase. I'm slowly working thru the issue, though.
Prior to the 1500, I had a Colorado 2.8l mini-max which did a pretty good good job towing my 4600 lb deep-v boat (walk-thru windshield). It didn't...
Is it blow-by or normal piston motion causing the air to be felt at the fill cap? If you put the cap on loosely and it is blown off then it may be blow-by. But the air in the engine is constantly moving so unless it it building up enough pressure to forcefully blow the cap off I don't think it...
