    Fuel Filter housing

Looks interesting. Would like to know more on what the designers say about the wif sensor. I saw one design on a ford, that it was recommended to open the drain valve on bottom of the filter every fuel-up. This adapter looks like ¾ of the filter would be filled with water, before the wif...

Belt Tensioner Failed at 40k Miles

That's why I was asking about a abnormal sound. You'd think a bearing failure would make noise before a catastrophic failure. Thank you for posting about this issue.

Belt Tensioner Failed at 40k Miles

Was there any noticeable squealing? Almost looks like the bearing failed and destroyed the mount. Haven't heard of this. gm has revised the T1 6.6d belt tensioner, with a new part number. Old design used a plastic pulley. I have heard of the plastic failing. They switched to a steel pully...

Also, did you drive it in to the service dept? If'n so, you gotta give the 3.0 credit not locking up after it started making internal knocking especially a main bearing. The main bearing feeds oil to the rod bearing. When the rod locks up, thats when it will probably produce a vented window in...

As a mechanic years ago, I always said if an engine is going to fail it would be early. This is a first of me hearing a 3.0 with a bad crankshaft bearing failure. I hope gm replaces it with a long block. That way the service guy doesn't have to open the engine up and re-use the head. Thanks...

    LZO duramax NO START

Welcome. Yes. Quite common on the LM2. A reflash has taken care of it. First that I've heard on the LZ0.

    Engine Accelerates On Its own

Do you have a throttle controller? I'm thinking like you, something is kicking in, just off idle. I am wondering if throttle lag is causing some of your issues also? Did you have Hill Decent engaged also? That will try to maintain your speed downhill only. I have experienced it more like a...

    New diesel owner!

Yah, the 3.0 is pretty tame for a diesel. If it wasn't for cold weather concerns, it would be hard to distinguish with a gasser. gm did a good job on this one. Too bad it has the epa breathing down it's tailpipe.
