Not feeling good about the PF66 filter

Update: still waiting for the machine shop to make the new adapter. He had to order the 1”-16 tap which is not a standard size. That’s all he’s waiting on.
More news later.

Bypass installed. Added roughly 2 quarts to the system. Everything seems good no leaks! Give it a few weeks and hopefully it will clean up the oil.
I can supply the drawing and a 3D model if anyone wants it.

Are you dumping the filtered oil back into the fill cap?

Nice install, I'm really wondering on the oil appearance and so on.

I have only driven about 300 miles since installing the bypass. No significant difference. Hopefully more miles will yield a measurable improvement. I’ll keep you posted.
Does anyone know what the particle size of the soot would be?

You’re not concerned about the filter hanging down so low (below the frame rail)?

Oil should be clean after 3-400 miles if it’s doing what they say it is. Amsoil‘s youtube video it clears up in like 1 minute.

I'm a bit concerned about the filter being the low but I don't really have any other options. I'm thinking about putting a shield around it.

As far as cleaning up the oil it has cleaned it up some but not as much as I had hoped. I did some research and found that particulate size is .5 to 2.5 microns in most cases. So I am good knowing the nothing larger than 2 microns will get through.

Oil looking any cleaner on the dipstick?
Not really. A bit disappointed. I'm good knowing I have better filtration but still....
On the plus side I'm really happy with the millage this thing gets. For a 6000 pound truck it's great. I haven't towed yet but so far my lifetime average is 27.4 (4900 miles). No EV in my future.

@ Rusty59!
As far a towing goes here ya go.

Trip2 reset prior to leaving

It really tows extremely well. From FL to Boston, Maine, Niagara Falls, Ohio, Nashville, Crossville and back to FL. For the record I have a 43 gallon Titan fuel tank installed. I also installed a set of airbags which makes the ride super smooth and really stops any "porpoising" from happening. Most of the trip we ran right at 65 to 68 max mph. My trailer loaded weighs in at 7K lbs and I can't really hate the 15.2 average mpg.

Was a GREAT trip....

This is my milage driving from Michigan to Florida. 70 to 75 mph most of the time. I still don’t understand why GM doesn’t advertise this setup. They keep pushing the 4 cylinder????
